Tuesday Date Night: Ars Sonora Valentine’s Day Concert

Valentines and others are invited to enjoy a romantic holiday bell concert on the Susan and John Sykes Ars Sonora in Sykes Plaza at °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.
°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp’s Ars Sonora, the first of its kind in the U.S., is a 105-foot-tall musical sculpture adorned with 63 hand-crafted bronze bells that can be played by a remote keyboard.
Seating will be set up on the courtyard's south side, and benches surround the Ars Sonora. Song requests can be sent to Josh Cessna, Ars Sonora curator, at jcessna@ut.edu, though there is no guarantee they will all be featured.
Several other concerts are coming to the Charlene A. Gordon Theater in the Ferman Center for the Arts on the °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êapp campus. All are free and open to the public.
- Friday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m., faculty recital with soprano Paige Sentianin and pianist Josh Cessna
- Sunday, Feb. 11, 3 p.m., faculty harpsichord recital with Duncan Macmillan
- Sunday, Feb. 18, 3 p.m., Gordon Concert Series, two pianos with Jane West and Grigorios Zamparas, chair and professor of music
